Some Pertinent Tips for Your Maiden Bike Tour

Motorbike travel has always been the most enviable and adventurous thing to do. It’s the ultimate treat; the feeling of total freedom, immersing yourself in the scenery around you and enjoying the most pleasant weather there. Motorbike travel is one of the best ways to explore the beautiful and unexplored parts of your country. If you are going on your first motorcycle trip, you certainly need extensive pre-trip planning and research, and there are many factors to keep in mind while planning the trip. The following are some useful tips before you jump on a bike and take a trip.

Choose your ride with great care:

If you are thinking about a bike trip, make sure your bike is comfortable and suits your trip.  Find the bike you can easily handle on your tour. You should focus on aspects like mileage, low maintenance, sharp headlights, guards, and most importantly, a comfortable seating position so that you don’t strain your neck and/or back over the course of a long journey. After choosing your ride prepare it for the long journey by cleaning it thoroughly, and getting it serviced from a reputable garage to ensure it’s in top condition before you hit the road. You need to weed out any issues you notice in your bike, like loose brakes, clutch plates, or the gear before starting your adventure and inspect your ride from time to time.

Pack small and take only needed accessories:

Generally, bring twice as much cash and half the clothes you think you’ll need. Prefer disposable stuff so you can discard it after use. Carry sachets instead of bottles for eatables. Arm yourself with the right accessories so that you stay safe throughout your journey. You should have a biker’s jacket, vest, and gloves, they will help you fight the dramatic shifts in elevation and temperature. You will be ready for unexpected weather changes. Always ensure you wear a good-quality helmet as this might be the difference between life and death. It’s simple—be prepared for everything you can encounter on your trip.

Take breaks:

Continuously Riding a bike for long hours without a break can cause a sprained neck and a severe back pain. So ensure that you take breaks in between your journey at regular intervals of time. Avoid going overboard with it as it will only lengthen your tour and eventually make it frustrating to continue. Use the break to rest and also to check if you need to refuel your tank, need food, and if your bike is in good condition. This will save you from many difficult circumstances.

Hydrate smart:

Factors like ‘hydration‘ often take a backseat when considering all important aspects of a motorbike road trip. Keep water handy, even in cool weather as conditions are typically very dry in cold weather. The water bottle should be in your easy access so that you can grab it when you pull over. Dehydration induces fatigue, and as it progresses you can get headaches, muscle pain, nausea, and heat strokes. In the warm weather, if you wait until you’re thirsty to take a drink of water, you’re already too late. You need to drink a liter an hour in hot weather. Keeping yourself hydrated is very important to be on top of your game.
