The new Polo range with 1.0L MPI petrol engine was launched by Volkswagen India at a price of Rs 5.41 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom). With the launch of new version of Polo, the company has replaced 1.2 L MPI engine across the Volkswagen Polo range in the Indian market with the 1.0L MPI engine.
Good news for the customers is that the price the new version is same as that of the previous model. As far as Volkswagen Polo features are concerned, the 1.0L MPI petrol engine of the car delivers a maximum power of 75bhp and peak torque of 95Nm.
The new engine will also provide the fuel efficiency of 18.78kmpl (as per ARAI). The torque figures have come down by 15Nm as the 1.2L used to develop 110Nm.
The older 1.2L engine version would continue to be at the helm of Polo GT TSI, where it belts out top power of 108bhp and highest torque of 250Nm, linked to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.
Since 40 years the Polo was introduced globally, while it was launched in the Indian market in 2010.
