Google starts rolling out YouTube dark mode to Android devices

A quarter after iOS devices received the YoTube dark mode, Google has now started rolling out the feature for to Android devices. The interface turns all black when users switch to the dark mode, which also reduces strain on the eyes while navigating the app, especially at night.

YouTube desktop got this feature last year and it was introduces for iOS in March this year. Android users can go to Settings and then General. You can find the Dark Theme toggle under the Digital Wellbeing section, below the “Remind me to take a break” feature.

The dark mode not only provides the users more immersive experience but also helps save battery life on mobile devices. Handsets with OLED panels deliver deeper blacks in videos.
