The highly anticipated summer blockbuster movie Transformers 4: Age of Extinction will feature Chevrolet and GM Design Chief Ed Welburn – along with Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Nicola Peltz, and Jack Reynor, among others.
The film made its American premiere in New York City on Wednesday night, June 25 and it hit the theaters Friday, June 27.
The Chevrolet vehicles in producer Michael Bay’s fourth instalment of the iconic film franchise are the: Camaro TF4 Concept (Bumblebee), Corvette Stingray (which converts into Autobot Crosshairs), Trax, and the Sonic RS – which is transformed into a Rally Car.
GM Design Chief Ed Welburn makes his big screen acting debut in a Transformers 4 scene shot in his office and in the Styling Dome at the GM Design Center. In addition to the GM Design Center, the film makes extensive use of GM facilities as settings, including the Milford Michigan Proving Ground, and the Delta Township Assembly Plant.
For the latest instalment, Michael Bay asked the design team at GM to redesign Bumblebee to give it an updated look with a specific focus on making it look more aggressive and muscular.
