BMW Motorrad has finally announced to open pre-bookings for two of the most anticipated motorcycles, the G 310 R and the G 310 GS, in India from June 8.
BMW G 310 R roadster and the BMW G 310 GS adventure tourer can be pre-booked ahead of the official launch for a token amount of Rs 50,000.
Developed under a joint venture between the German automaker and India’s TVS Motor Company, the small-capacity motorcycles are being manufactured at the latter’s facility in Hosur.
The BMW G 310 R takes design cues from its elder sibling, the S 1000 R and the G 310 GS is its touring capable version which takes inputs from the company’s GS adventure series.
Bolted on a steel-trellis frame, the entry-level BMW bikes get power from a new 313cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine mated to a six-speed gearbox. The liquid-cooled motor churns out 34PS of power and a peak torque of 28Nm. The claimed fuel efficiency of the bikes is around 30kmpl and it has a top speed of 145kmph.
The adventure version, the G 310 GS gets mild off-roading capabilities as well with longer-travel suspension set-up, larger 19-inch front wheel and some other mechanical and cosmetic changes.
BMW G 310 R is expected to be priced between Rs 2.5 lakh and Rs 3 lakh, while the BMW G 310 GS will cost around Rs 30,000-50,000 more than its sibling in India.
