The new generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire sub-compact sedan has been unveiled and is all set to be rolled out in India on May 16, 2017. Maruti has ditched the prefix Swift from the Swift Desire nameplate, providing the new model a distinct identity.
The bookings for the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire will start from the first week of May and the deliveries will commence

Based on the new HEARTECT platform, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire is an all-new vehicle, however, it will also underpin the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Swift 2017. The car comes with a hexagonal chrome grille, projector headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights and a sporty new bumper.
There is no notchback design on the side profile as it now sports a conventional design with subtle character lines. The car features a new bumper, compact boot design and LED taillights. The new Dzire is 40 mm wider and the wheelbase has been increased by 40 mm.
The new generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire 2017 comes loaded with new features such as a new 7-inch SmartPlay touch-screen infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The car also features engine start/stop button and keyless entry.
Other features include automatic climate control system, electrically adjustable and retractable ORVMs, twin-pod instrument cluster with MID unit and a flat-bottom multi-functional steering wheel with audio and telephony controls.
The new Maruti Dzire will sport dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard across variants.
Other safety features will include rear parking sensors, reverse parking camera and engine immobilizer among others.
The all-new Maruti Suzuki Dzire 2017 will be powered by a 1.2-litre K12B four-cylinder K-Series engine capable for churning out 84 BHP of power and 114 Nm of peak torque. The 1.3-litre MultiJet DDiS diesel engine delivers a maximum power of 74 BHP and a peak torque of 190 Nm.
Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. However, Maruti Suzuki has ditched the 4-speed automatic transmission on the petrol engine as both engines get optional 5-speed AGS (AMT) transmission.
The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire is expected to be priced between Rs 5.5 lakh and INR 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The current model is priced in the range of 5.35 lakh to INR 8.08 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The new Maruti Dzire will compete against the likes of Hyundai Xcent facelift, Honda Amaze, Ford Figo Aspire, Volkswagen Ameo and Tata Tigor.
