The Maruti Suzuki Swift is the hot favourite of Indian car buyers, while the Audi A4 has topped the luxury segment, according to a recent survey of 2016 data carried out by an online auto marketplace.
A series of trends and shifts in customer behaviour have also been revealed in the survey carried out by online auto marketplace Droom. Diesel cars are more preferred compared to petrol and CNG.
Cars accounted for 38% of all sales closed by the website, and sold at an average price of Rs 5.77 lakh.
For the second time in a row, the Maruti Suzuki Swift continued to top Droom’s popularity charts. However, Toyota Innova and Honda City were not too far behind and were India’s favourites in different price and form segments.
“The trends as seen in Droom’s analysis paints a distinct picture of the entire automobile marketplace. While Indian brands and tie-ups such as Maruti Suzuki and Hero emerged as the most trusted brands, foreign manufacturers like Hyundai and Honda are fast catching up,” said Sandeep Aggarwal, CEO and founder of Droom.
