Yamaha has launched its new sports bike named YZF-R3 in India at a price tag of Rs 3.25 lakh. The R3 is powered by a 320cc, twin-cylinder engine, which is capable of producing 41bhp at 10,750rpm and 29.5Nm at 9,000rpm. The power mill is mated to a 6-speed transmission.
The Yamaha YZF-R3 makes a print of 60 km/hr in just 2.9 seconds, while it takes six seconds to do a 100 km/hr from standstill. The bike achieves a top speed of 187 km/hr.
“The development team put in all of their engineering skills and passion into developing this model and achieved notable results in areas like high speed performance and a comfortable riding position,” said Masaki Asano, Managing Director, Yamaha Motor India.
The bike will take on the KTM RC 390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300 among others in the segment. The R3 will come in two paint schemes – blue and white and red and black.
Other prominent features include dual head-lamps, a digital-analogue console and 10-spoke alloy wheels.
