For the first time in India, the bike ambulance service has been launched in Vijayapura. The first of its kind ambulance service was recently revealed in Bengaluru.
District in-charge Minister MB Patil had recently launched the bike ambulance service at the District Hospital.
According to Patil, the service aims at providing first aid to accident victims by reaching the spot at the earliest. The bike ambulance would reach before the arrival of the four-wheeled regular ambulance as it generally gets stuck in traffic jams, he said.
He says , being a two-wheeler, a bike reaches faster than a car as it can travel through the narrow lanes.
The bike contains around 40 medicines and medical kit and two trained medical staff will be riding the vehicle.
